PROVIDERS OF HIGH-QUALITY, EMERGENCY, SOLO RESIDENTIAL PLACEMENTS IN REGULATED HOMES.

PASSIONATE ABOUT YOUNG PEOPLES WELL BEING.

Our Ethos

Here at Connect Care we offer solo, emergency and respite care within a residential children’s home setting. Our homes are registered for either male or female young people aged 8 to 18.

At Connect Care we create an environment where young people feel safe, happy, healthy, and cared for and are able to develop and thrive. We support them to fulfil their potential and this is under pinned using our CALM approach and ethos. CALM stands for Communication, Awareness, Motivation and Listening. Our homes are structured, so the staff are able to promote our CALM ethos and make them a warm nurturing place to live. Quite often in an emergency situation young people can feel they have no one to turn to, we will provide a bridging placement and the support for those young people whilst a more suitable, permanent placement is identified.

At Connect Care we are outward facing, working within a wider system of professionals for each individual child. We also aim to work with the children’s families and communities of origin to help sustain links and understand passed issues. We have high expectations of our staff teams and will fully support them in their role as decision makers and as activities leaders. In order to fulfil their roles our staff and managers will be fully trained and also engaged in ongoing learning through our training and development programme.

Connect Care encourages young people to:

C A L M

Connect Care has devised a method for developing children’s social care programs and plans for placement, which we refer to as CALM. Communication, Awareness, Listening and Motivation.

Our aim is to provide what we affectionately term as “Breathing space in a safe place” for the local authority and the young people within a regulated provision inspected by Ofsted.

Connect Care’s primary goal is to provide local authorities with emergency placements in a crisis situation.

Working in Partnership with The Local Authorities

Connect Care works in partnership with the local authorities to support the young person through any challenging periods. We aim to provide stability and structure, which in turn allows them the opportunity to re-engage and re-focus. Connect Care aims to provide a positive and stable environment which can be used as a constructive platform upon which to build.

We provide a consistent, open and honest approach to ensure the young people are able to talk to staff and communicate their feelings in such a way that makes it feel inclusive rather than intrusive.

24/7 Care

Our homes work on a clearly defined minimum staffing ratio of two staff members to one young person. Increased individual support can be provided if required. We will always have two members of staff on each shift and also a minimum of two staff sleeping in overnight.

Our management team are available for support at all times, day or night.

Part of The Community

Our homes will be established in carefully chosen locations. We have set out to open a broad mix of houses from large and detached set within their own grounds, to homes in rural areas and smaller homes in urban communities. Where a young person is placed will depend upon their individual need and circumstances at the time of referral.

We will try and ensure that young people can have access to the local and wider community with staff’s support, and we will work closely with the local authority and the services they provide.

It is vital that our homes play a full and active role in their local community, with our relationships with local authorities being of paramount importance to us.
